CMS girls’ basketball players honor cancer survivors

Campbellsville Middle School girls’ basketball players recently honored cancer survivors.

 

Survivors were honored in special ceremonies on Tuesday, Oct. 1, during the game vs. Taylor County.

 

Survivors featured include Paul Lacy, grandfather of sixth-grader Nora Harris; Loretta Simmons, aunt of seventh-grader Ta’Zaria Owens; Bobby Rogers, grandfather of seventh-grader Miley Hash; Joe Beard, who is Hash’s great-grandfather; Wilma Roy, grandmother of assistant coach LeeAnn Grider; and Randel Shofner.

 

Several people who battled cancer were honored in remembrance.

 

They include William McGinnis, uncle of iEagle sixth-grader Aleecia Knezevic and sixth-grader Alyssa Knezevic; Larry Hash, Hash’s grandfather; Josephine Spaulding, great-grandmother of iEagle fourth-grader Destini Gholston; Carolyn Dicken, grandmother of seventh-grader Keeley Dicken; and Leo Schwartsmiller, grandfather of Adrian Browning and Brianna Browning.

 

After the ceremony, CMS and TCMS players prayed together.
