CIS partners with Air Evac

Campbellsville Independent Schools has partnered with Air Evac Lifeteam to provide air medical services for its student athletes.

With the partnership, students who are injured during athletic practices or games and need to be transported by helicopter will be flown via Air Evac, at no cost to the student.

The service will be provided free for all CIS student athletes, including those playing with the District’s community leagues and middle and high school sports programs.

The partnership also covers CIS athletic coaches, and will be available for all home and away games.

Players from visiting teams will also be covered under the partnership.

For example, according to CIS Superintendent Kirby Smith, the partnership will cover air medic services should a student be injured while playing sports with CHS teams during spring break in Florida.

Smith said he hopes the service will never be used, but believes it’s important to offer for student athletes and coaches.

Air Evac Lifeteam Program Director Dan Durham and Local Membership Sales Manager Stacey Forbis, along with Taylor Regional Hospital CEO Jane Wheatley, were instrumental in creating the partnership.
