What is the difference between arts enhancement and arts integration?

ENHANCEMENT is simply using one of the arts to go along with your lesson.  For example, students draw a picture of a plant or animal cell.

INTEGRATION is when the lesson is driven by the arts subject.  Both the main content area AND the arts area are the focus of the lesson.  For example, students look at a picture of a plant or animal cell.  Not only are they naming the cell parts, they are looking at the media used to create the cell diagram and how the artist used color, contrast, etc.

The resources here were created while I was teaching elementary music (K-5).  I'm more than willing to work with anyone looking for ideas/resources for grades 6 and up.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want ideas on how to integrate the arts into your lessons.
