My name is Jo Ann Harris and I teach art at Campbellsville Middle and High Schools. CHS General Art is a basic introductory course which will cover what art is, why art is good for you and how to make it. We will learn how current events affect art and how art is a reflection of U.S. and world history. We will learn about artists and art styles and about processes. Processes are what you do and how you do it to make art. We will cover ways to make 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art. We will also talk about art careers and ways to use art in the "real world". We will use a wide variety of media (art materials) to make art. Some of our media are not the conventional paper, pencil, brush and paint. I hope that our students come into class with open minds and excited to try out these new materials and experiences. I look forward to this upcoming year and am making plans on General Art being stronger and more comprehensive than ever before. I can't wait to see what the new school year has in store!
If you ever have any questions concerning a project, grade or something going on in class, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or text/call me after school hours at 270-403-4733.
If you have Facebook, "like" our page with the ridiculously long name of Campbellsville Middle and High School Amazing Arts. I will be posting pics of student artists at work and play and their finished products among other information. Comment or like the pics so that students who monitor the page will see that you are noticing them and what they are doing in art.
