Superintendent: Mr. Deaton reported as follows:
Congratulations to Farrah Hord, Campbellsville Middle School, for being selected as Campbellsville-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce Educator of the year. Also, congratulations to Lynn Kearney as a nominee for Campbellsville-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award.
Over the weekend the Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching awards were held. CISD winners were Lindsay Williams, Campbellsville High School; Lorri Hardy, Campbellsville Middle School; and Nikki Price, Campbellsville Elementary School. Congratulations to those winners.
Also, Ms. Angie Russell has been selected as our new College and Career Readiness Coach which is part of the GRREC Race to the Top Grant. We want to congratulate her and look forward to working with her in her new position next year.
Our state testing is wrapped up. We have also completed our MAP testing which will be used at CES and CMS for next school year for placement of students in advanced classes and assessment of where some of our needs will be.
We have started the big move. Both libraries have already been relocated and a lot of wiring has been completed in some of the classrooms. Mr. Rafferty has made his move out of the wing that will house the 8th grade and into his new room which will be in the Eagle Academy wing. A lot of things are already taking shape and well under way.
In about two weeks we will begin the demolition of the old poles and begin the installation of the new lighting at the football and baseball fields. We’re looking forward to what will be a busy summer for us.
Next Monday, May 20th, is our annual yearend cookout for the staff starting at 11:30 a.m. in the Campbellsville Middle School gym. We certainly want to welcome the Board to come and have lunch with us as we wrap up another school year.
Other Communications: Ms. Hall reminded the Board Baccalaureate will be held Wednesday 7:30 p.m., Class Night Thursday 7:30 p.m., Graduation Saturday 5:00 p.m., and CMS awards tomorrow evening.
