Campbellsville Elementary School will celebrate Music Week next week, April 24-28, with dress-up days for students and staff members.

The dress-up days coincide with genres of music. Those who dress up will be able to enter their names into a drawing for prizes.

Monday is Country/Western Day.

Students and staff members can dress in their favorite cowboy/cowgirl outfits. All toy guns should be left at home.

Tuesday is 1950s Day.

Students and staff members can wear jeans, poodle skirts and slick-backed hair.

Wednesday is 1960s and 1970s Day.

Students and staff members can wear tie-dye shirts and peace symbols.

Thursday is 1980s Day.

Students and staff members can wear big hair, bright colors and layers.

And Friday is Beach Day.

Students and staff members can dress in their favorite beach wear. Swimsuits and flip flops should be left at home.

To go along with the dress-up days, CES third-graders can participate in a contest to make a homemade instrument.

All instruments must be brought to school by Thursday, April 27, and they will be on display in the school library. Prizes for the best instruments will be awarded during the assembly on Friday morning.

The week will end with a special performance on Friday morning by the Campbellsville University Steel Band.
