CES students learn about dental hygiene

Campbellsville Elementary School kindergarten students recently learned how to keep their teeth healthy.

Dental hygienist Brandie Sharp, who works at Dr. John Smoot’s dental office in Campbellsville, spoke to students about the proper way to brush their teeth.

She also told students they should always brush in the morning and before they go to bed, and be sure to visit a dentist twice each year.

Sharp talked to students about healthy foods they can eat and showed them a container to represent how much sugar they consume when drinking soft drinks.

She also brought a model to show students how to brush, and gave them new toothbrushes and bracelets.

And, Sharp read students the book “Pete the Cat and the Lost Tooth.”
