Campbellsville High School academic team members competed in District Governor’s Cup competition on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Based on their scores, four CHS students will advance to region competition.
At Governor’s Cup competition, teams compete in on-demand writing, quick recall, future problem solving and five written exams, including math, science, social studies, language arts and arts and humanities.
In its district, CHS competes against Marion, Washington and Taylor counties.
The CHS team finished the quick recall competition in third place.
CHS junior Elizabeth Sullivan placed third in composition.
Randy Harris, also a junior, took home fourth place in the arts and humanities exam category.
CHS sophomore Tristin Lopez received third place in math.
David Silva, a sophomore, placed fifth in science.
As a result of their scores, Sullivan, Harris, Lopez and Silva will advance to region competition next month.
At region, CHS will compete against Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, John Hardin, North Hardin, Bullitt Central, Bullitt East, North Bullitt, Bardstown, Bethlehem, Thomas Nelson and LaRue, Nelson, Spencer, Marion, Washington and Taylor counties.
Region competition is set for Monday, Feb. 12, and Saturday, Feb. 17.
State competition will be March 17-19 at the Galt House in Louisville.
