CMS students learn about the power of words

Campbellsville Middle School sixth-grade students are learning about the power of words.

In Andrea Gribbins’s language arts class, students are discussing how they can change their words and then change the world.

During a recent lesson, Gribbins asked her students to think about what they can accomplish by using the right words when they communicate.

After watching a video on the subject, Gribbins and her students shared their thoughts.

Students then divided into groups to read together and find the main ideas of the story.

Gribbins is teaching students to identify the main idea in writing and then find supporting details.
