CES Wings Express students make Christmas trees

Campbellsville Elementary School Wings Express students recently celebrated Christmas by making their very own Christmas trees.

Kindergarten students were given construction paper and cut out shapes to make a tree, ornaments and a star.

Then, students glued the pieces together to make their trees.

Campbellsville University education students Jordyn Bray and Bandon Rioux helped the students, as did Wings Express assistant Courtney Mills.

Wings Express is a program to help students with homework and other activities. Students receive help with reading, math, science, technology, social skills and more. They also participate in activities to learn about nutrition.

Wings Express students stay at school from 3 to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There are no activities on Fridays.

About 90 students participate in the Wings Express program.

Doretha Sanders is Wings Express director.

After the Christmas break, the Wings Express program will begin again on Monday, Jan. 8.
