CES students donate food to those in need

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently collected canned goods to donate to those in need.

As part of Red Ribbon Week, which was Oct. 23-27, CES hosted a canned food drive for the Campbellsville/Taylor County Ministerial Association Food Pantry.

Last school year, about 1,000 cans were collected.

And this year, about 1,250 cans were collected.

CES students were treated with popsicles for beating last year’s total.

Red Ribbon Week is the largest drug prevention campaign in the country, and serves as a way for students to take a stand against illegal drugs.

CES fourth-graders in Kaye Agathen’s leadership class collected many of the nearly 1,250 canned food items to be donated to the Campbellsville/Taylor County Ministerial Association Food Pantry.
