CES students honor Eagle Band members

Campbellsville Elementary School recently honored the members of the CIS Marching Ensemble.

The Eagle Band will compete in KMEA regional competition on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Madison Southern High School in Berea.

The band has won first place in its class at each competition this season.

Band members were recognized and congratulated for their successful season, and they performed this year’s musical selections for the CES students.

This year’s show is entitled The Black Mirror Effect, which is a unique show that explores the hidden aspects of social media and the effect it can have on our persona and attitudes.

The ensemble includes about 30 playing members, five color guard and several volunteers to create special effects.

CIS competes in the Kentucky Music Educators Association marching band circuit, in Class A, and in the Mid-States Band Association circuit, also in Class A.

Zach Shelton is the CHS band director. Brittany Johnson is assistant.
