CHS Beta members win awards

Campbellsville High School Beta Club members brought home several awards on Thursday, Oct. 19, at the annual Central Kentucky Beta Invitational.

 

Campbellsville University hosted the invitational, which features competitions in talent, service, math, English, social studies, science, agriculture, speech, poetry, Spanish, advertising design, art and more.

 

CHS students won the following awards:

 

Jeremiah Jackson, a junior, won first place in the photography competition.

 

Elizabeth Sullivan, a junior, took home third place in the social studies category.

 

Haley Morris, Zoe McAninch, Sydney Wilson and Kaleigh Hunt, sophomores, were third in the advertising design competition.

 

And seniors Madison Dial, Sara Farmer, Missy Vanorder and Alex Doss won first place in the advertising design competition.

 

CHS juniors Jackson Hinton, Ryan Kearney, Tristan Johnson, Myles Murrell and Treyce Mattingly competed in the design build competition. They were given a box of items and asked to make Rube Goldberg machine in a two-hour time frame.

 

CHS Beta students will compete at the state Beta convention on Jan. 28-30 in Lexington.

 

This year’s national convention is June 17-20 in Savannah, Ga.

 

CHS students who competed in the invitational include seniors Chanson Atkinson, Christian Berry, Caitlin Bright, Madison Dial, Alex Doss, Sara Farmer, Missy Vanorder, Ryan Wiedewitsch, Connor Wilson, Darius Wright and Kayla Young; juniors Davon Cecil, Brandon Greer, Jackson Hinton, Jeremiah Jackson, Tristan Johnson, Ryan Kearney, Treyce Mattingly, Myles Murrell and Elizabeth Sullivan; and sophomores Haley Morris, Kaleigh Hunt, Gavin Johnson, Zoe McAninch and Sydney Wilson.

 

Lindsay Williams, Lauren Bennett and Ashley Penick are the CHS Beta sponsors.
