CMS students begin community service project

Campbellsville Middle School BETA students and Community Service Action team members have begun a community service project at their school.

On Saturday, Oct. 14, students worked as a team to beautify an outdoor classroom at the CMS campus.

Students picked up trash, pulled weeds, removed landscaping and made a plan for how they will design and decorate their outdoor space.

Six students attended the first work session, including sixth-graders Jayla Penn, Daniel Caton, Margaret Johnson and Ava Hughes and seventh-graders Whitney Frashure and Haylee Allen.

The outdoor classroom is used by students to work on projects, have class and eat lunch together.

Any student interested in participating should sign up at the school’s Lighthouse Room.

CMS teacher Andrea Gribbins is leading the project.

For more information, call Gribbins at (270) 465-5121.
