CMS football players honored

Campbellsville Middle School football team recently honored its eighth-grade players for their dedication and hard work this season.

This year’s eighth-graders include Brandon Pittman, Adin Hunt, Tuff Harper, Adrien Smith, Logan Phillips, Jadan Furman, Dakota Harris and Logan Rakes.

The late Cameron Smith, who was a CMS football player when he died in 2013, was also honored.

Eighth-grader Adrien Smith is Smith’s younger brother.

Cameron Smith would have been a senior at Campbellsville High School this year.

CMS football players released balloons in Smith’s honor, and his father, William Smith, who graduated from CHS in 2001, tossed the coin before the game vs. Hart County.

CMS seventh- and eighth-grade squads will take on Edmonson County on Tuesday, Oct. 3, to see which team will advance to the first round of the Kentucky Middle School Football Association playoffs.

Games begin at 6 p.m. at the Campbellsville High School campus.

Aaron Webb is the head CMS football coach.
