Campbellsville High School boys’ and girls’ track team members brought home several medals and ribbons from the Heartland Conference meet on Thursday, April 20, in Green County.
The girls’ team finished in third place out of six teams.
And the boys’ team finished fifth out of six.
CHS freshman Taliyah Hazelwood finished first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
Isis Coleman, a freshman, finished fourth in the 100-meter dash and third in the 200.
CHS freshman Zoe McAninch was sixth in the 800-meter run and fifth in the 1600.
The girls’ 4x100 relay team, made up of Campbellsville Middle School seventh-graders Kitana Taylor and Aun Daya Coleman and freshmen Isis Coleman and Taliyah Hazelwood, finished in first place.
The girls’ 4x200 relay team, made up of CMS seventh-graders Kitana Taylor and Aun Daya Coleman, freshman Jasmine Coro and sophomore Lauren Williams, finished in fourth place.
In the girls’ long jump, CHS freshman Isis Coleman finished fourth.
In the girls’ shot put, CHS sophomore Natalie Caldwell was third and freshman Katelyn Miller finished fourth.
Caldwell finished third in the discus throw, and Miller was fifth.
For the boys’ team, CHS sophomore Daesean Vancleave was third in the 100-meter dash. CHS sophomore Tristan Johnson was ninth.
CHS sophomore Skyler Burchett finished sixth in the 200-and the 400-meter dashes.
CMS seventh-grader Dalvian Thornton was 10th in the 200 and CHS junior Christian Berry was seventh in the 400.
In the 800-meter run, CHS freshman Ian McAninch was ninth and CMS eighth-grader Jake Dicken finished in 10th place.
Ian McAninch finished fourth in the 3200-meter run.
In the boys’ 4x400, the CHS team, made up of sophomores Evan McAninch, Joe Pipes and Skyler Burchett and junior Christian Berry, finished in fourth place.
In the boys’ 4x800, the CHS team, made up of CMS eighth-grader Jake Dicken, CHS sophomores Evan McAninch and Ian McAninch and junior Christian Berry, finished fifth.
CHS sophomore Tristan Johnson was fourth in the high jump. Sophomore Evan McAninch finished fifth.
And in the boys’ long jump, CMS seventh-grader Dalvian Thornton was 10th.
In boys’ shot put, sophomore Tristan Johnson was eighth and CMS eighth-grader Brandon Pittman finished 12th.
In the discus throw, CHS freshman Taekwon McCoy was ninth.
In overall individual rankings, CHS freshman Taliyah Hazelwood is listed as fourth, and freshman Isis Coleman is 10th.
CHS track coaches are Katie Wilkerson and Steve Doss.
The CHS track team will compete next in the Carl Deaton Classic in Green County on Friday, May 5.
