Campbellsville High School academic team members competed in District Governor’s Cup competition on Saturday, Jan. 28.
Based on their scores, five CHS students will advance to region competition.
At Governor’s Cup competition, teams compete in on-demand writing, quick recall, future problem solving and five written exams, including math, science, social studies, language arts and arts and humanities.
In its district, CHS competes against Marion, Washington and Taylor counties.
CHS future problem solving team – made up of senior Shauna Jones, sophomores Myles Murrell and Randy Harris and freshman Cole Kidwell – won first place in the District competition, and advances to compete again.
Christian Berry, a junior, placed fourth in the math written assessment, and will compete again.
At regional competition, CHS will compete against Central Hardin, Elizabethtown, John Hardin, North Hardin, Bullitt Central, Bullitt East, North Bullitt, Spencer County, Bardstown, Bethlehem, LaRue County, Nelson County, Thomas Nelson, Marion County, Washington County and Taylor County.
Regional competition is set for Monday, Feb. 13, and Saturday, Feb. 18, at Nelson County High School.
State competition will be March 11-13 at the Galt House in Louisville.
