CMS boys’ basketball team still undefeated

Campbellsville Middle School boys’ eighth-grade basketball team is still undefeated this season, with a record of 15-0.


The team defeated Green County on Monday, Jan. 9, by a final score of 35-32.


CMS eighth-grader Arren Hash had 11 points for the Eagles, and eighth-grader Kameron Smith had eight.


The team was down by six points with less than four minutes to play.


Eighth-grader Tristin Faulkner sank two free throws with seven seconds left in the game to help the Eagles bring home the win.


In the seventh-grade matchup, CMS lost by a score of 23-38.


Sixth-graders Chase Hord and Kaydon Taylor each had seven points.


CMS sixth-graders defeated Green County by a score of 28-24.


Sixth-grader Deondre Weathers led his team with 10 points. Sixth-grader Keondre Weathers had eight points.


Lynn Kearney coaches the sixth- and eighth-grade teams. Joseph Taylor is the seventh-grade coach.


The team will take on Taylor County on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the TC campus for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade games, starting at 5:30 p.m.
