CES students learn about dental hygiene

Campbellsville Elementary School students are learning about dental hygiene.

Susan Kennon, a Campbellsville Family Resource and Youth Services Center liaison at CES, is talking to students about the importance of taking care of their teeth.

Kennon told students that vegetables, fruit and milk are good for a person’s teeth. However, soda, candy and other types of sweets aren’t good to eat.

She said students should always brush their teeth in the morning and at night, and floss every day.

Kennon said using chewing tobacco and smoking aren’t good habits, and can cause cancer.

She said students should take pride in their appearance and can stay healthy by eating properly and keeping their bodies clean.

After the lesson, Kennon provided students with new toothbrushes and floss.
