CES students learn about fire prevention

Campbellsville Elementary School students recently learned the importance of working smoke detectors and how to stop, drop and roll.

Campbellsville Fire & Rescue personnel came to CES to talk about the importance of checking and changing the batteries in smoke detectors.

Students volunteered to show their classmates how to test a smoke detector.

They also volunteered to show the right way to leave their home when the fire alarm sounds.

After the skits, Captain Keith Bricken told students that those who live in their home should agree on one meeting spot in case of a fire.

And, Bricken said it’s always important for students to keep their rooms clean, in case firefighters have to come inside and look for them.

Students also learned how to stop, drop and roll, and volunteered to show their classmates.
