CMS students learn about weather

Campbellsville Middle School students are learning about weather in their science class.

In Jan Speer’s class, students recently put their knowledge to the test.

Speer asked students to build a windproof house, by using a paper house and only paperclips, toothpicks, stickers and paper to reinforce it.

Students designed and drew their houses first, and then tested them.

After making some changes, students designed their houses and tested them once again.

When finished, the students reflected on how a windstorm can impact a house and the proper way to prepare a home to withstand the inclement weather.
