CHS FCCLA students to collect items for Hurricane victims

Campbellsville High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America students are collecting food and supplies for hurricane victims in Texas and Louisiana.

Hurricane Harvey came through Texas and Louisiana recently, and, according to the National Hurricane Center, is the biggest rainstorm on record with rainfall reaching about 50 inches in some places.

FCCLA students want to collect supplies to send to those impacted by the flooding.

Items will be collected through Friday, Sept. 1.

Suggested items for donation include canned goods, baby items, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, dry foods, toothbrushes and toothpaste, baby formula, toilet paper, paper towels, Dawn soap, Clorox wipes and bleach, mosquito spray, towels, diapers, 33-gallon trash bags, baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, soap and shampoo, latex gloves, deodorant, first aid kits, socks and Ziploc bags.

For more information, call CHS FCCLA sponsor Deanna Campbell at (270) 465-8774.
