CMS students expand vocabulary

Campbellsville Middle School students are working hard to expand their vocabularies.

In Farrah Hord’s leadership class, students recently played Apples to Apples to learn new words and their definitions, and how to use the words in sentences.

The Apples to Apples game begins with two decks of cards – one of “things” and the other “descriptions.”

Each round, a player draws a “description” card and the other players choose the “thing” card in their hand that best matches the description.

The first player reveals the “thing” cards and then chooses which one he or she believes best fits the “description” card.

The player whose card is selected keeps the card, and the player with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
