CIS adds staff members to Eagle family

Campbellsville Independent Schools recently added five employees to the Eagle family.

 

From teachers to instructional assistants and support positions, the new staff members are an integral part of making the school year a success.

 

New employees met for orientation on Friday, Jan. 5, to learn about the District’s policies and procedures and more.

 

Superintendent Kirby Smith met with the employees to welcome them to the District.

 

Rebecca Tungate, payroll clerk and insurance coordinator, also met with the new employees, as did Chief Academic Officer Kent Settle and many other staff members.

CAMPBELLSVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
 

Judy Cox

 

Judy Cox is a media center assistant at Campbellsville Elementary School.

 

Cox graduated from Lebanon High School.

 

She has worked at several banks, at Purcell’s Business Products in sales, at Batesville Casket Co. as a line worker and as director of the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce.

 

She has two children, Tammy Hash of Campbellsville, who is a fifth-grade teacher at CES, and Todd Cox of Nashville, Tenn.

 

Cox has four grandchildren, including Austin Hash, who graduated from CHS in 2016; Arren Hash, a sophomore at CHS; and Chelsea Cox and Emily Cox of Nashville.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys crossword puzzles.

 

Cox is a member of the Campbellsville Business and Professional Women’s Club and was named Woman of the Year.

 

Weston Horn

 

Weston Horn is an instructional assistant at Campbellsville Elementary School.

 

He graduated from Campbellsville High School in 2014, where he played soccer and basketball and ran on the track team. He was later an assistant coach.

 

Horn has worked as a cook at Wings Pizza N Things.

 

He is the son of Lynne Horn, who is a second-grade teacher at CES, and Todd Horn. He has a daughter, Laylah Brook Horn.

 

CAMPBELLSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL
 

LeeAnn Grider

 

LeeAnn Grider is a sixth- and seventh-grade math teacher at Campbellsville Middle School.

 

She graduated from Russell County High School in 2013, and completed a teaching degree in math at Campbellsville University in 2017.

 

She is the daughter of Terry and Deana Grider.

 

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, running, biking and hiking.

 

CAMPBELLSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

 

Jacob Burdette

 

Jacob Burdette is a virtual lab instructor at Campbellsville High School.

 

He graduated from Marion County High School in 2013, and completed a teaching degree in Spanish at Campbellsville University in 2017.

 

Burdette worked as a tennis facilitator at The Thoreau Club and in maintenance at Dunn Motors.

 

In his spare time, he enjoys wood working, tennis, basketball and playing piano.

 

Rebecca Lawless

 

Rebecca Lawless is attendance clerk at Campbellsville High School.

 

She graduated from Montgomery County High School in 2003, completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing at Campbellsville University in 2007 and a Master of Arts in teaching degree at the University of the Cumberlands in 2014.

 

Lawless has worked as a ministry assistant at Campbellsville Baptist Church and as a graduate admissions counselor at Campbellsville University.

 

She is the daughter of Dr. Charles and Vicki Rice and is married to Luke Lawless, who graduated from Campbellsville High School.

 

In her spare time, Lawless enjoys boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking, traveling and reading, and has served as a committee member for the Distinguished Young Woman organization.
